Felt bows are a trendy, adorable, and affordable. They can be created in many styles and on varying clips or headbands. Today I will be showing you one style and hope to share others in the future.
When you purchase supplies you will have enough fabric for many bows of the same color. I would suggest keeping two for pigtail bows (or a couple extras in case you lose one) and then making some to give away. It’s a great, affordable gift option!
At the bottom of this post you will find a printable version of the tutorial. Hope that is helpful for you!
For this project you will need:
- 9×12” felt
- LINKED HERE
- Nylon headbands or alligator clips
- HEADBANDS LINKED HERE
- ALLIGATOR CLIPS LINKED HERE
- Hot glue gun
That’s all!
*Please note that the felt above is lower quality felt but also the cheapest price. You can also purchase premium felt for about double the price (still a steal!) to make higher quality bows.
Nylon Headband Tutorial (For alligator clip directions keep scrolling):
- Cut bow about 1” in width across the shortest direction of the felt.
- Follow the pictures provided below to tie your bow directly onto the band.
- Pull fairly tightly and move the felt around until you reach a look you are happy with.
- Cut the ends of the fabric to the length/style you prefer. Below you will find how I cut mine.
- Turn your bow to the back side and place small dots of hot glue hidden in the bow to keep it tied how you like it. Optional: place a small dot of glue between bow and nylon headband.
- Let glue dry and then…you’re done!
